Skateboard GB Launches the UK Skateboard Coaching Commission

We’re excited to launch the UK Skateboard Coaching Commission (UKSCC) — a new national group that will bring together coaches from across the UK to help shape the future of coaching in skateboarding.

As the skate scene continues to grow, so does the need for coaching that reflects the diversity, creativity and real-world experience of those leading sessions, supporting skaters and building communities. Coaching in skateboarding isn’t one-size-fits-all. It looks different in every park, school, street and session — and we believe that should be reflected in how coaching is developed and supported at a national level.

The UKSCC will bring together 10 to 12 coaches from a range of backgrounds and coaching contexts. This group will act as a sounding board, a critical friend and a creative force — helping Skateboard GB stay accountable, honest and connected to what’s happening on the ground.

This is about more than policy. It’s about building trust, listening properly and recognising that no single organisation has all the answers. We want to work alongside coaches to build a more credible, inclusive and supportive coaching system — one that genuinely reflects the values and realities of UK skateboarding.

We’re inviting coaches from all over the UK to apply. Whether you’re working with beginners or elite athletes, in schools or skateparks, at events or in your local community — if you’ve got lived experience of coaching and a desire to help shape what comes next, we’d love to hear from you.
