Skateboard GB national team skateboarder Sky Brown has secured the Women’s Park World Championship title in São Paulo this weekend, claiming her second world crown after a weather‑disrupted but commanding performance.
Brown posted an exceptional 88.16 in her opening runs, a score that proved unbeatable as heavy rainfall forced officials to halt the final for athlete safety. With conditions making the bowl unrideable, the standings were frozen—confirming Brown as the 2026 World Champion.
At just 17, Brown continues to redefine British skateboarding on the global stage. This latest title adds to her growing list of achievements, including her historic Olympic medal and her previous world championship win.
“This means so much,” Brown said following the announcement. “I always want to finish the full final, but I’m grateful for the result and proud of what I put down today.”
Brown also reflected on the wider meaning of competing on International Women’s Day, acknowledging the importance of women’s sport and expressing hope for unity during challenging global times.
Earlier in the week other members of the Skateboard GB team flew through the qualifiers of the park event, with Tay Cunningham and Tommy Calvert making it through to the quarter finals, while Lilly Strachan dominated with a 3rd place finish in the qualifiers to also earn a place in the quarter finals. While in the street competition Joe Hinson, qualified easily, but along with his team mates, didn’t quite get the scores needed to progress into the later stages.
The next competition will take place in Rome, Italy in June where skaters will aim to pick up Olympic qualifying points for the LA 2028 Games.
