Kings Square - Gloucester – Drift Tricks: Tidlelines

What is it?

Drift Tricks: Tidelines is landing in King’s Square, Gloucester for one week only.

This August, King’s Square will be transformed into a playable landscape of skateable sculptures, movement, stories, and community.

Created by artists Dani Abulhawa and Bedir Bekar alongside Gloucester’s skate communities, Drift Tricks: Tidelines imagines a future Gloucester shaped by storms, tides, journeys, and resilience. Inspired by the city’s dockside history and multicultural identity, the sculptures invite people of all ages and abilities to skate, roll, play, move, gather, and imagine new possibilities for public space.

Across five days, the installation will host free skating, movement sessions, workshops, community activities, and a Saturday skate jam and roller disco celebrating Gloucester’s vibrant skate culture.

It’s been incredible to see so many organisations, artists and local skate communities come together to make this happen. If you’ve ever wanted to experience this space differently, this is your chance.

Expect skateable sculptures, free workshops, open sessions and a Skate Jam finale, all co-designed with Gloucester’s skate community. Whether you’re skating, rolling, dancing or just stopping by to watch, everyone’s welcome.
