Morecambe – TARPIT: 20 Years of Morecambe Skatepark

After 20 years of weathering, Morecambe Skatepark has been resurfaced. To celebrate the re/opening of this now vintage skatepark, Jwllrs are hosting a two day jam around iconic ramps, producing new artworks, and hosting music from the local skate community. ⁠

Deck Shaping with Jamie Jenkinson
SATURDAY 11:00 -1:00 pm

Looking into the histories of iconic/radical/ridiculous deck shapes, you’ll design a new custom shape, that will cut for you and displayed at the Tar Pit, for you to take home after the event.

Learn to Skate with Doug Duckett
SATURDAY 1:00 – 3:00 pm

Learn the very basics of skateboarding with a Skateboard GB certified coach. From standing on the board and foot positions, to pushing, rolling, and into the beginnings of tricks. You’ll be supported with key advice on how to get started on the life-long journey of skateboarding. Skateboards and full protective gear is provided.

Screen Printing with Amy Dickson
SATURDAY 3:00 – 6 :00 pm

This drop in session invites you to bring second hand clothing to print new designs from Harry Mills, Shaun Wilkinson and French, with support from trained fabric screen printer, Amy Dickson. We will be using water-based eco-friendly inks. Prints will need home heat curing with an iron.

Skateboarder Yoga with Rachel Walsh
SUNDAY 11:00 – 12:00 pm

Led by local Yoga instructor Rachel Walsh, a group session will be taken through a series of stretches tailored to the twists and tweaks of skateboarding.
