GB Park Skateboarders announced for Olympic Qualifier Series

Skateboard GB is happy to announce the six skateboarders who will represent Great Britain in the first ever Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS).

The WST Dubai event took place this weekend and was the final competition of the World Skate qualifiers, where skateboarders could accumulate points for their global ranking place.

The top 44 skateboarders (per discipline, per gender) will progress through to the Olympic Qualifying Series events which will take place in Shanghai (May) and Budapest (June), with a maximum of 6 (per gender) from each nation.

GB skateboarders to progress includes Tokyo 2020 Bronze medallist Sky Brown, who became Britain’s youngest person to win a medal at an Olympic games.

She will be joined by 16 year old Lilly Strachan and Lola Tambling, who have shown amazing progress at international competitions over the last couple of years.

The men which will represent Skateboard GB include Liverpool born Tommy Calvert and the youngest member of the team, alongside George O’Neill from Devon and Andy Macdonald, who holds the record for the most X Games medals in vert.

A total of 88 skateboarders will compete at the Skateboard Park events in the OQS, with skaters targeting for the 42 places available for the Paris 2024 Games.

The GB street skateboarder(s) who qualify for the OQS will be announced next week.
