Skateboard GB rider Sky Brown (14), took the gold medal at the World Skate Pro Tour Championships in San Juan, Argentina today (Sunday 28th May 2023), in the second Olympic qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Sky put down seamless runs in the semi-finals and in the finals unleashed a strong combination of tricks with a high level of difficulty to secure the pole position and a top score of 90.84 to put her firmly on the podium.
Earlier this year Sky finished in 1st place at the World Championships, overtaking Sakura Yosozumi and Kokona Hiraki for the prime spot on the lead up to the Olympic games next year.
James Hope-Gill, CEO at Skateboard GB, said “Sky’s achievements continue to amaze us and this recent win puts her in a great place for the rest of the Olympic qualifying season. We are really proud of all the GB skaters competing here this week and the progression they have made”.
