Sam Beckett appointed as Performance Development Coach at Skateboard GB

Skateboard GB is really excited to announce the appointment of Sam Beckett as Performance Development Coach.

Sam is a well-recognized name in the UK skateboard community with over 10 years, as a high-profile skateboarder in both the vert and park disciplines. Sam was the first British skateboarder to win an X-Games skateboarding event and competed for the Skateboard GB team on the road to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Sam will start his new role in September, with the goal of helping to identify, develop, inspire, and support talented British skateboarders who are working towards future success.

Skateboarding made its debut at the Olympic Games in Tokyo last summer, cementing the need to identify and nurture the incredible talent there is in the UK. Skateboard GB was awarded UK Sport Progression Funding and the appointment of Sam will be a welcome addition who will help develop skateboarders at a world-class standard.

James Hope-Gill, CEO of Skateboard GB said, “We’re delighted to welcome Sam to the team. He has years of experience within the skateboarding landscape and his knowledge and experience will be a great addition to help talented British skateboarders develop on the world stage.”

Sam commented on his new role, “I’m thrilled to be joining Skateboard GB in this exciting new role. I want to use my experience in competition skateboarding to help support other talented skaters reach their goals.”
