The winners of the UK Skateboard Photography Awards 2026 were announced today, celebrating the most compelling and creative images captured across the British skateboarding community. This year’s winning photographers were:
These were:

Hazel Whitehouse – Winner of the ‘Skateboard Action Shot’ category

Harley Maryon – Winner of the ‘British Skate Culture’ category

Matt Wootton – Winner of the ‘Skateboarding Landscapes’ category
Unlike traditional photography competitions, the Skateboard Photography Awards welcomed entries shot on both mobile devices and professional camera equipment, reflecting the authentic, spontaneous, and fast‑moving nature of skateboarding culture. More than 220 photographers from across the UK submitted their work, making this the most competitive year to date.
The judging panel brought together some of the most respected names in British skate photography: Juliet Klottrup, Ryan Bradley, and Steve Ingle; all former winners from the inaugural awards in 2024. The panel was led by Rob Whiston, a leading figure in UK skate photography for over two decades and a long‑standing photographer for Skateboarders Companion magazine.
Entries were initially shortlisted using a detailed set of criteria, including technical quality, creativity and originality, relevance to the theme, emotional or visual impact, and overall execution. From this process, the top five images in each category were selected. The judges then spent hours reviewing, debating, and refining their choices to uncover this year’s standout winners.
In a major development for 2026, Skateboard GB partnered with World Skate, offering all category winners an exclusive opportunity to shoot at the World Skateboarding Tour stop in Rome next month. This event marks the first Olympic qualifying competition of the year, giving the winners unprecedented access to the world’s top skateboarders on one of the sport’s biggest global stages.
Reflecting on the awards, head judge Rob Whiston highlighted the importance of photography within skateboarding culture “What I love about skateboard photography is that it’s created by people who truly live the culture. You can feel the energy, the risk, the humour, the friendships, in a single shot. This year’s entries really captured the heartbeat of skateboarding in the UK”
The event was proudly supported by Samsung, renowned for producing some of the most advanced mobile photography technology, which continues to shape how skateboarders capture and share their stories.
