Sunshine, sweat and standout runs for our 2026 National Park Championships
Against the backdrop of Cornwall’s seemingly endless summer, the UK’s best park skateboarders gathered at one of the country’s premier outdoor facilities to battle for National Championship honours. With riders pushing progression across every session, the event delivered exactly what a National Championship should: huge tricks (including a ridiculous tear-drop-to-flat transfer), close competition and plenty of smiles.
In the Men’s competition, Tay Cunningham continued his remarkable run of form, claiming yet another National Park title with a commanding performance against a super competitive Finals group. Fresh from an impressive international season, Tay showcased the consistency, execution and technical ability that have made him one of the leading figures in British park skateboarding. His winning run earned him the top spot just ahead of George O’Neill and Alex Hallford, who completed an incredibly talented podium.
The Women’s event was just as competitive and Olive Newman skated brilliantly to take the National Championship crown. The young rider put together an epic final run to edge out an incredibly strong field, underlining her status as one of Britain’s most exciting emerging talents. Local legend, Lola Tambling secured second place, with Mara Ilg Castro rounding out the podium after a strong showing throughout the competition.
As temperatures rose throughout the weekend, so did the level of skating. Riders were met with ideal conditions at Concrete Waves, and the energy from spectators, families and the wider skateboarding community helped create an atmosphere befitting a National Championship event.

“Every year the National Championships take another step forward, and this year’s event was no exception. The standard across both the men’s and women’s competitions was fantastic to watch, and it’s exciting to see more skaters demonstrating the style of competitive skateboarding needed to compete and succeed on the international stage.
We’re grateful to Concrete Waves for once again hosting such a brilliant event, and while we’re proud of what’s been achieved this year, we see this as just another step in the journey. Our ambition is to continue building an event that not only crowns our National Champions but also helps drive the long-term development of competitive skateboarding in Britain.”
A huge thank you goes to all the athletes, coaches, judges, chaperones, volunteers and event staff who made the weekend possible, as well as everyone who came out to support the action in Newquay.
With the Park National Champions now decided, attention turns to the next major domestic showdown as the National Championships series heads to London’s BaySixty6 for the Street competition from 12th – 13th September 2026.
