Applications now open

Skateboard GB is pleased to announce that applications for the Subway Skate Fund are now open.

The UK’s first dedicated national fund for skateboarding projects, created through partnership between Skateboard GB and Subway, marks a major milestone for the growth of grassroots skateboarding in the UK. The fund is offering £15,000 in funding for any type of skateboard-related project; from community programmes and creative initiatives to new obstacles, events, or coaching programmes.

How Do I Apply?

Simply fill in the form below and our team will review before the first recipient is announced. Remember, the fund aims to support projects that strengthen local scenes, widen participation, and celebrate the culture and creativity at the heart of skateboarding.

The funding may be awarded as one larger grant or multiple smaller amounts, depending on project quality, scale and overall impact. The final number of recipients will be determined through the application and assessment process.

Who can apply?

Unlike traditional sports funding, the Subway x Skateboard GB Fund is not tied to location, organisation type, or project category. It is open to unincorporated groups, community organisers, and individual skateboarders, removing barriers that have historically limited access to support.

The partnership builds on a strong track record. Subway and Skateboard GB have supported six skatepark projects across the UK, which collectively welcomed over 8,000 people on their launch days, demonstrating the scale of demand for accessible, community-driven skate spaces.

Application Form

Thank you for your interest in the Subway Skate Fund 2026.

The Subway Skate Fund sits within Subway’s Fresh Moves programme — a long‑term commitment to supporting movement, access and participation in communities across the UK. Through Fresh Moves, Subway has partnered with Skateboard GB to support local skate scenes and remove barriers to participation through investment.

Skateboard GB are launching a £15,000 fund to support skateboarding-related projects across the UK. This Fund is designed to financially back ideas that make a real difference to local skate scenes, whether that means improving or activating spaces, creating new opportunities to take part, supporting young people, or strengthening community connections through skateboarding.

We are keeping the Fund open and flexible. If you have a strong project that supports skateboarding in your community, we welcome you to apply.

Projects should have a clear delivery output which could include either an event, activation, workshop or community session to celebrate the project’s success.

Partnership-led projects are eligible, provided the role of each party is clearly explained and the Subway Skate Fund contribution delivers clear added value. Applications that already include support from other funders, sponsors, partners or organisations will also be considered.

Successful applicants will be expected to provide light-touch reporting after delivery of the project. This may include basic metrics such as participation numbers, a short summary of outcomes, photos, videos, social media links, press coverage, or other communications content that help evidence the impact of the project.

Successful projects will be expected to acknowledge the support of Subway and Skateboard GB through appropriate branding and communications. This may include signage, logos on project materials, social media acknowledgements, or inclusion in launch events. Requirements will be proportionate to the scale of funding and agreed in advance.

Before you apply, please note:

  • Projects must be skateboarding-related and delivered in the UK.
  • Applicants must have an identifiable lead individual or organisation responsible for delivery.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to agree to basic reporting, evaluation and communications requirements.
  • Total awards are available from £5,000 up to a maximum of £15,000.
  • We expect this process to be highly competitive, so please make sure you check your application carefully before sending. We reserve the right to offer awards below the amount requested, in order to support multiple projects. If you have match-funding or other resources available, please make this clear.
  • Applications will first go through an eligibility check, followed by a scored assessment process.
