Skateboard GB is setting up a new UK Skateboard Coaching Commission and we’re looking for 10 to 12 coaches from across the UK to join us.
This is about bringing together coaches with different experiences and views to help shape the future of skateboard coaching. We want it to be useful, honest and grounded in what really matters to coaches and the skateboarding communities they work with.
The Commission will create space for open conversations, useful challenge and support of Skateboard GB’s coaching work. It’s one of the ways we’re making sure that what we do stays transparent, relevant and supports the people out there doing the work.
Who’s it for?
We’re looking for skateboard coaches from all parts of the UK scene. You might be coaching in parks, at events, on the street, in schools or community spaces. You might be working with beginners, young talent, or experienced skaters pushing themselves.
You don’t need to have a load of qualifications or tick every box. What matters most is that you’ve got real experience of coaching, and you want to be part of something that makes a difference. We’re after a broad mix of people; different backgrounds, locations, identities and approaches to coaching.
What will you be doing?
Commission members will join regular discussions, mostly online but in person when we can. You’ll help challenge our thinking, share what’s going on in your part of the skate world and help us spot gaps, raise issues and shape solutions. The UKSCC is a way for SBGB and UK’s skateboard coaches to collaborate to make coaching in the UK better for everyone.

What you’ll get out of it
You’ll get to connect with other coaches, share ideas and be part of a national conversation about what good coaching looks like. It’s a chance to speak up, learn from each other and push coaching forward in a way that fits with skateboarding culture.
This isn’t about red tape or big talk, it’s about having honest conversations and being part of something that will change things for the better. It’s voluntary, but we hope it’ll be valuable to you too.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, have a read of the Expression of Interest and Terms of Reference for full details and then fill in the application form.
